The Bronx, the northernmost borough of New York City, is home to a diverse population of 1,472,654 residents as of the 2020 Census. Bordered by Westchester County to the north and Manhattan to the south, it is the only borough not primarily on an island. The Bronx is divided into two distinct sections by the Bronx River: the hilly West Bronx and the flatter East Bronx.
